Manufacturing

Custom heating elements, made from a drawing or a sample

If the element you need is not a catalogue part — obsolete, non-standard, or made for equipment nobody supports any more — we manufacture it in Sharjah from your drawing, your written requirement, or the element that failed.

The capability

What can be made to order?

Every heating element we make is made to order — there is no catalogue to pick from. That means the answer to "can you make this?" usually comes down to whether the form can be manufactured, not whether it happens to be a standard size.

The common cases are these. Equipment whose manufacturer has stopped supplying parts. An element that keeps failing, where a like-for-like copy would simply repeat the failure. A non-standard mounting, thread or flange that no stock part fits. A form that has to bend around something inside the equipment. Or a batch of identical elements for a plant with several machines of the same type.

What we need is whatever you have: a drawing, a written requirement, a photograph with dimensions, or the failed element itself. The old element is usually the best specification there is, because it carries the mounting and the form as well as the ratings.

The process

From a failed element to a working replacement

The work runs the same way whether you send a drawing or a box of broken parts.

Measure and record

 — dimensions, ratings, mounting, terminations and form taken from what you send, before anything is made

Say what failed, and why

 — where the element went and what that suggests about the original specification

Confirm the specification

 — in writing, including any change we would recommend and the reason for it

Manufacture

 — wound, filled, formed, fitted to its mounting and finished in our own workshop

Test

 — before it leaves, so a unit that goes back into service works

Hold the specification

 — so repeat batches come off the same drawing without re-measuring

Selection

When copying the original is the wrong answer

Most replacements should match the original exactly. Sometimes they should not, and it is worth knowing which case you are in before ordering.

If it failed early, twice

 — an element that has gone twice in quick succession was probably specified wrong, not made wrong. Copying it a third time will not change the outcome.

If the duty has changed

 — the same equipment heating a different medium, or working harder than it used to, may need a different sheath or a different spread of wattage.

If the element ran partly uncovered

 — a level change in a tank will end an immersion element regardless of how well it is made. That needs the mounting or the length looked at, not just a new element.

If the failure is at one point

 — burning through at a support, a seal or a bend usually points at something around the element rather than the element itself.

If the fit has opened up

 — bores, threads and flanges wear. Measuring the equipment rather than the old part is what catches this.

If replacement is not the better buy

 — occasionally it is not, and we will say so rather than take the order.

Applications

What we are usually asked for

Obsolete elements for plant and machinery the original supplier no longer supports, non-standard mountings and threads, elements formed around obstructions inside equipment, and batches for sites running several identical machines.

If the element you need is one of the types we already make, its own page will tell you what to send. If it is not on that list, this is the page to start from.

What to send

Anything you have. The failed element is best, but a clear photograph with a rule across it gets us a long way.

The failed element, or photographs of it against a rule

A drawing or sketch, if one exists

Supply voltage, phase and wattage

What the element heats, and how it is mounted

What went wrong, and how long the original lasted

How many you need, now and as repeat supply

FAQs

Custom manufacturing questions

Voltage, wattage, the dimensions including heated and unheated lengths, the mounting or termination, and what the element heats. If you have the failed element, send that instead — it carries all of it, including the form and the mounting.

Yes. Most of this work arrives as a failed part rather than a drawing. We measure and record it, confirm the specification with you in writing, and manufacture from that.

Yes, and it is a large part of what we do. Where the original manufacturer has stopped supplying parts, the old element is the specification.

Yes. If an element has failed early, or failed twice, we will say what we think caused it before making a copy — because a like-for-like replacement of a wrong specification simply repeats the failure.

Yes. Once an element is made and approved, the specification is held so later batches match without re-measuring.

Ask. We will tell you plainly whether it is something we can manufacture, and if it is not, we will say so rather than take the order and pass it along.

If it can be measured, it can be made

We will measure it, confirm the specification in writing and tell you if we would change anything. Workshop at Al Sajaa Industrial Area in Sharjah; we attend across Dubai and Sharjah.
