About us
About Best Anchor Marine Services
A marine and industrial engineering company based at Al Sajaa Industrial Area in Sharjah, working across Dubai and Sharjah on the rotating, electrical and pressure equipment that vessels, plant rooms and production lines depend on — and manufacturing the heating elements, calorifiers and control panels that go back into them.

Marine engineering and manufacturing from one workshop in Sharjah
Best Anchor Marine Services provides marine and industrial engineering to shipping, offshore, oil and gas, manufacturing and hospitality clients in the United Arab Emirates. The work divides into six services: motor rewinding and dynamic balancing, heating element and calorifier manufacturing, ship repair and maintenance, machine shop and mechanical repair, switchgear and control panel manufacturing, and fabrication and piping.
Equipment does not fail along trade lines. A motor that comes in for a rewind can turn out to need a machined shaft and a new starter panel as well, and a contractor who does only one of those will finish their part and leave you to arrange the rest. We hold the electrical, mechanical, machining, manufacturing and fabrication work in one company, so one scope can carry a job the whole way: strip, diagnose, machine, rewind, rebuild, test, return.
A shop that only rewinds motors needs your motor to be worth rewinding. We do not, so we will tell you when a machine is finished and what a new one costs. The elements, calorifiers and panels are built here as well, so a replacement is made for the duty the old one was doing. Order the same part again in two years and we still have the drawing.
Our capabilities
Engineering, repair and manufacturing capability
The capacities and the limits are set out below, since those are what you need before deciding where to send a job. Each one has its own page with the full scope, how the work runs, and the questions we get asked most.
Rotating equipment: rewinding, balancing and testing
AC induction and DC motors up to 900 kW, low and high voltage: marine propulsion and bow thruster motors, deck crane, winch and windlass motors, generator and alternator stators and rotors, chiller, compressor and AHU motors, and submersible, centrifugal and multistage pump motors. Windings are recorded turn by turn before removal and rebuilt with Class H copper wire and insulation as standard, because heat and salt-laden air are what end most windings in Gulf service.
Dynamic balancing covers rotors, DC armatures and rotating assemblies up to 2.5 tons, pump and fan impellers, cooling tower and HVAC blower fans, and propeller and drive shafts, with hydraulic straightening where a shaft has bowed. Vibration readings are taken before and after, because imbalance, misalignment, bent shafts and bearing defects all present as vibration and each needs a different correction. Full scope on the motor rewinding and dynamic balancing page.
Marine machinery, overhauling and machining
Top-end and full overhauls of marine diesel engines and generator sets: cylinder head and valve reconditioning, pistons, rings and liners, crankshaft and bearing inspection, turbocharger and exhaust, fuel and injection, cooling and lubrication, timing and alignment, reassembly and a proving run. Generator work adds AVR and excitation diagnostics, insulation and winding testing, and load testing before the set returns to service.
Pump work covers all types — bilge, ballast, fuel transfer, lube oil, hydraulic, firewater, cooling and sanitary, in centrifugal, multistage, submersible and positive displacement configurations — stripped, assessed for wear and cavitation damage, resealed, aligned, balanced, pressure tested and rebuilt. The machine shop supports both: turning, boring, sleeving, shaft repair and one-off manufacture when a component is obsolete. See ship repair and maintenance and machine shop services.
Manufacturing: elements, calorifiers, panels and fabrication
Heating elements are manufactured to order in ten forms — flange and screw plug immersion, spiral tubular, cartridge, finned tubular, air tubular, inline circulation, open coil furnace, mica space heaters and hot plates — specified by voltage, wattage, sheath material, bend form, immersed length and mounting. Hot water calorifiers are built from 300 to 5000 litres in stainless steel or copper, to customer drawing, sample or written requirement, with the heat exchanger arrangement set around the heat source actually available.
Electrical manufacturing covers marine switchgear, distribution boards, motor control and starter panels, frequency control units, engine control panels, temperature control panels and HVAC switchgear. Fabrication covers stainless steel pressure vessels, tanks and steel structures, pipe spooling and renewal, ballast, firewater and fuel lines, and chilled water and steam heating coils — measured in place where the job is a renewal rather than a new build. See heating element manufacturing, switchgear and control panels and fabrication and piping.
How we work
How a job runs, from enquiry to return to service
The sequence is the same whether the job is a single heating element or a full engine overhaul. You know the scope and the cost before anything is committed, and if either has to change you hear it from us first.
01
Understanding the requirement
We start from what you have — a drawing, a sample, a specification or the failed part itself. A motor nameplate and what it drives, an engine or pump model, element voltage and wattage, a calorifier duty, a panel load schedule. If none of that still exists, we work from the equipment.
02
Inspection & diagnosis
Equipment is stripped and inspected, with insulation resistance testing, vibration readings and dimensional checks as the case requires, so we know what actually failed. Windings are recorded turn by turn before they come out.
03
Written findings & quotation
You receive what we found, what we recommend, what it costs, and and an honest comparison between repairing and replacing wherever that is a real choice. Work starts when you agree the scope.
04
Manufacturing
Heating elements, hot water calorifiers, control panels and fabricated items are built to the agreed specification, with materials picked for the conditions the part will work in.
05
Overhaul & rebuild
Rewinding, machining, balancing, resealing and reassembly are carried out in our own workshop, with worn components recovered or replaced and rotating assemblies balanced before rebuild.
06
Testing
Insulation and load testing on electrical work, vibration readings before and after balancing, pressure testing on pumps and piping, and function testing on manufactured elements, calorifiers and panels — before anything is despatched.
07
Delivery & commissioning
Equipment is returned and, where required, refitted and commissioned on board or on site, with a recommended maintenance interval for the duty it actually runs.
08
Records & follow-up
Findings, readings and specifications are kept on file, so a second visit does not start from scratch and a replacement part can be made from what we already hold.
What we hold ourselves to
The way we deal with customers and equipment
Findings in writing
— what we found, what we recommend and what it costs, before work starts rather than after.
Measurement before opinion
— components measured against tolerance, windings recorded, readings taken, so decisions rest on numbers.
Honest repair-or-replace advice
— including the jobs where a new machine is the better buy and we say so.
Nothing leaves untested
— insulation and load testing, vibration readings, pressure testing and function testing as the work requires.
One point of contact
— a job that crosses trades still has one schedule and one person answering for it.
Records kept
— specifications, drawings and readings retained, so the next element, part or repair starts from what we already know.
