Who we are

An engineering workshop that repairs and manufactures

We are a marine and industrial engineering company in the UAE, working for ship owners and managers, shipyards, offshore and marine contractors, HVAC and facilities contractors, hotels, and the maintenance and procurement teams who specify this work and then have to defend what it costs. The repair side covers motor rewinding and dynamic balancing, marine engine, generator and pump overhauling, and the machining of replacement components. The manufacturing side builds heating elements, hot water calorifiers, switchgear and control panels, piping and pressure vessels.

Most jobs cross trades. A generator that will not hold load can begin as a winding repair, then need an excitation fault traced, then a bracket machined because nobody stocks it. A pump that has lost head wants its shaft sleeved before it goes back together. Send that to three suppliers and you get three attendances, three quotations and nobody who will commit to the date you need the machine back. Keeping the electrical, mechanical, machining, manufacturing and fabrication work in one company is what avoids that.

We quote from measurements. Equipment is stripped, inspected and measured first, and the findings come to you in writing with a recommendation, including the jobs where buying new beats repairing.

What we do

Marine and industrial services across Dubai and Sharjah

Six services, one engineering team. Each has its own page setting out the scope of work, how a job runs, what applications it suits and what to send with an enquiry. Every job begins with inspection and a written scope, so the findings and the price are on paper before anything is committed.

Service 01

Motor rewinding and dynamic balancing

Rewinding, overhaul and dynamic balancing of AC and DC motors up to 900 kW — propulsion and thruster motors, deck machinery, chiller and compressor motors, submersible and multistage pump motors, and generator and alternator stators and rotors. The winding is recorded turn by turn before it comes out, rebuilt with Class H copper and insulation, and the rotor is balanced before the machine goes back.

Service 02

Heating element and calorifier manufacturing

Ten element types, all made to order: flange and screw plug immersion, spiral tubular, cartridge, finned, air tubular, inline circulation, open coil furnace, mica space heaters and hot plates. We build to your voltage, wattage, sheath material, bend form and mounting, working from a drawing, a sample, or the failed element itself.

Hot water calorifiers are manufactured by the same team, from 300 to 5000 litres in stainless steel or copper, insulated and fitted with temperature control — for hotels, vessels, laundries, commercial kitchens and plant rooms.

Ship repair, engine, generator and pump overhauling

Afloat and workshop repair for commercial craft, offshore support vessels, tugs, barges and privately owned motor yachts. Inspection, engine and pump work in place, electrical repair and welding are carried out at your berth; rewinding, balancing, machining and manufacturing come back to the workshop. A vessel is opened up once, with both halves of the job in a single scope.

Generator overhaul, AVR and excitation diagnostics, insulation and load testing

Pump overhauling and repair — all types of pumps, seals, wear and cavitation damage

Hull, structural and pipework repair, welding and corrosion control

Planned maintenance built around the vessel’s duty, plus breakdown attendance

Service 04

Machine shop and mechanical repair

Turning, boring, sleeving and shaft repair, and replacement parts made from a drawing, a sample or the worn original — including components that are obsolete or no longer supplied. Recovering a part is often the difference between a vessel sailing on schedule and a plant waiting weeks on an import.

Switchgear and control panel manufacturing

Marine switchgear, distribution boards, motor control and starter panels, frequency control units, engine control panels and temperature control panels — built to your load schedule and single-line diagram, or engineered from the equipment where no drawing survives. Enclosure rating, component selection and internal layout are set for the environment the panel will live in.

Why Best Anchor Marine Services

What buyers ask before they send us a job

Once a motor, pump or engine is stripped, its real condition is visible for the first time. We inspect it, measure what has worn, and set out what needs repairing, overhauling or replacing from what is actually on the bench, not from what was assumed before it came apart.

Every machine we strip gets a written comparison of repair against replacement, including the jobs where replacement wins.

Both. Heating elements and hot water calorifiers are manufactured here to your specification, as are switchgear and control panels, and fabricated vessels and structures. Buy a catalogue part and you get the nearest wattage and the nearest flange. Built to the duty the equipment actually runs, it fits first time, and we keep the drawing for the next one.

We do. Take a chilled water pump set that keeps tripping: the motor wants rewinding, the impeller is worn, the starter panel has a failed contactor and the suction line needs a new spool. That is four suppliers, four site visits, and each one waiting on the last. Rewinding, panel building, machining and fabrication are all in the one workshop, so it stays a single scope with a single date.

Yes. Equipment is stripped, measured and tested first, and you get what we found, what we recommend and a price in writing before work starts. If the scope changes once the machine is open, you hear about it then and not on the invoice. That is what a procurement team needs before it can put a number forward.

For older marine frames that nobody stocks in the Gulf, rewinding is normally faster and cheaper than importing a replacement. Not in every case. If the stator core, the frame or the shaft is past economic recovery, we will tell you and give you a price for a new machine. Either way the inspection findings are yours to keep.

Insulation resistance and load testing on electrical work. Vibration readings after balancing, compared against the readings taken before. Pressure testing on pumps and piping. Function testing on every element, calorifier and panel we build. It costs less to test than to go back out to a fault that was never fixed.

The workshop is at Al Sajaa Industrial Area in Sharjah, and we attend vessels, plant rooms and sites across Dubai and Sharjah. Equipment can be delivered to us or collected. Anything that depends on fixed machinery — rewinding, balancing, machining, manufacturing — is done in the workshop.

FAQs

Common questions about what we do

Best Anchor Marine Services is a marine and industrial engineering company in the UAE. It repairs, overhauls and manufactures the rotating, electrical and pressure equipment that vessels and industrial plant run on: motor rewinding and dynamic balancing, marine engine, generator and pump overhauling, heating element and hot water calorifier manufacturing, switchgear and control panel manufacturing, machining and fabrication.

The workshop is at 469, Al Sajaa Industrial Area, Sharjah, U.A.E. Site and vessel attendance is provided across Dubai and Sharjah, with workshop work carried out in Sharjah.

Both, in the same workshop. Heating elements, hot water calorifiers and control panels are manufactured to order. Motors, marine engines, generators and pumps are repaired and overhauled. Replacement components are machined here too, so a job does not have to be split across three suppliers.

Ship owners and managers, shipyards, offshore and marine contractors, HVAC and facilities contractors, hotels, and the maintenance and procurement teams who have to specify this work and defend what it costs.

Both. Inspection, fault diagnosis, engine and pump work in place, electrical repair and welding are carried out at your berth, plant room or site across Dubai and Sharjah. Motor rewinding, dynamic balancing, machining and the manufacture of elements, calorifiers and panels are done at the Sharjah workshop.
